HorsePower Consulting is a technical service provider of large engine technology.  It is based on Paul Flynn's 40 years of experience in the large diesel and gas engine industry.  Paul started as an engine materials engineer and rose to lead the engine development section at GE Transportation and ended his career as Chief Consulting Engineer.

He led or advised the development of seven large diesel and gas engine platforms.  He led the reliability improvement of the 7FDL engine, which is the most widely produced 1000 rpm in the world today.   He led the development of the HDL, 6000 ghp engine. (Also branded 632 and 2032 by MWM and Caterpillar) and the upgrade of the engine for EPA Tier2 emissions as the GEVO engine family.  He drove the concept, was technical adviser and sat on the senior review team on the Jenbacher 920,  D616, P616, DF616, GEVO Tier 4,  and a high speed, multi-market engine.

In a consulting engineer role, he advised management on strategic technology, perfomed technical assessments and due diligence for acqusitions, drove improvements to engineering processes and solved many business critical product issues.  He led developments in critical engine systems, including: Common Rail Fuel Injection, Turbochargers, EGR Coolers, Variable Valve Timing, Diagnostics and Digitization of Engine Service.
